It was such a nice day that Heather recruited 10 of us for a ride home from Camp Berachah. Somewhere along the Black Diamond road Nancy fell ill, probably from a combination of not enough sleep, dehydration, camp food, and overexertion. Poor Nancy was really feeling it to a point where I had to convince her it wasn’t a good idea to sit down in the small median in the middle of the highway. We urged the rest of the group to pedal on when they called in at one of the next turn off point. Dan who was planned on riding a short distance with us anyways, returned to camp to retrieve his car picking up Nancy on the way back. I biked on to catch the rest of the group.
Catching up with the rest of the group on the Green River Trail I found out that Nicole had a mishap while learning the finer art of drafting. She was in good spirit despite leaving some skin on the pavement. Nicole’s arm started to stiffen up so Mary was called for a pickup. Mary arrived completing a 100% Okada family involvement on this ride, and replenished us with Shot Blocks and Gatorade.
The rest of the ride seemed to be uneventful, although we departed our ways at the I-90 trail.
