Route:North Loop, counterCW, ending at Church or Ed’s house
Pace:pretty fast – but it’s all relative. I’d guess we will average 16mph overall. Parts will be 20+. Other parts will be 9mph. You know what I mean.
Rain will cancel. But that’s obvious. You just won’t show up. I’ll still be here. We are meeting at my house. If you show up and it’s raining, I’ll make you a cup of cocoa. Actually, I might go even if it rains, but not on the tandem. Cathy asked me why I didn’t end up cycling one day last week. I told her it was raining. She said, ‘Don’t you have a Rain Bike?’ Ouch. No sympathy there. FYI-because I have a Rain Bike doesn’t mean I want to ride in the rain. Hmm, maybe I’d better get rid of my lights.
Mike and I will be riding my tandem. So that means…drafting! Yes, drafting. Mike and I will be looking to draft off of every one of you. So, go fast, so we can feel the wind sucking us forward. Any other tandems up for the ride?
Congrats to Kary for joining the BurleySoftride Tandem Club. Now we have Doug P, Mik, William, Kary, and me with BST’s. JROD has a regular tandem…sorry Mary…And I think Curt has a regular tandem. We need to get a Tandem Palooza going soon.
