Crystal Mountain – June 26

Ride: Crystal Mountain
Date: June 26
Ride Leader: blueneck
Distance: about 90 miles
Start location: Enumclaw High School, 226 Semanski Street Enumclaw, WA 98022-209
Start time: 7AM

Description: We start at the high school and wind our way onto Highway 410 (Chinook Pass Hwy). This is a real highway with logging trucks and all, so be careful. Bring a head and tail light, food, extra water, and dress appropriately. It’ll be cool in the morning and warm in the afternoon. We should get to the top by around 12:30 or so, just in time for lunch.

For those who just want to hit the “hill” you can meet us at the entrance to Crystal Mt. Blvd. from 410, we should be there at around 11 – 11:30AM.

Rain cancels the ride.

For all riders – make sure you check your brake pads today. The road going down is a bit rough so they will be well used. Bring some money as we plan to eat lunch at the Alpine Inn. I called them and they will be open. They also take credit cards. The temperature will be cold and probably won’t warm up until we are going uphill; layer if possible. Bring a camera if you are so inclined. Some drink/recovery food for the ride home will make for a good ride.
