Jerseys – they’re not a state

What do you all want to do for jerseys? I think it would be easiest if we all went for the World Vision jerseys. We don’t have enough time left to design custom jerseys.

Here is the website for Team World Vision.  They already have a fund raising page set up for STP.  It looks like they are raising funds for Haiti relief, and I think we can raise any amount.  We can order jerseys and shorts in 5-7 days.  Jerseys are $50 and shorts are $65.

One advantage of fund raising for World Vision, is that you can enter other events like a marathon, half marathon, triathlon, etc.  I know that Pastor Dale is doing the Chicago Marathon through IJM, and other people at LCC have run marathons too.  It would be great to form a team of people who could even walk a half or full marathon, and form a team together.

Jon also had a great idea of the STP team raising funds for World Bicycle Relief.  We could set a goal to raise enough funds for a certain number of bicycles, and get people to sponsor us per mile.  We could keep LCC posted on our results, and make it kind of a community challenge.  I think whatever we do, it would be a great awareness builder for that charity, and I’d personally prefer to be riding for a cause.

I don’t think that we should do custom jerseys this time so World Vision jerseys are a good idea. It would be nice to have a cause more bike oriented so consider World Vision bicycle donation (http://donate.worldvision.org/OA_HTML/xxwv2ibeCCtpItmDspRte.jsp?lpos=ctr_txt_bicycle_readMore&item=1635388&go=item&) or as previously mentioned, World Bicycle Relief.
