Flying Wheels June 12

Name: Flying Wheels

Route: Start at Marymoor Park. You will have to look for the starting point – I think they mentioned the east entrance due to Cirque du Soleil. The first climb is up the infamous Inglewood Hill – about a 12% climb; then on toward the Snoqualmie River valley. For century riders it loops up to Snohomish and back to Monroe, back into the valley and a stair-step climb out of the valley. See the maps on www.cascade.org for more details.

Start time: 8AM

Ride time: plan on 6 to 7 hours for the century

I plan to be there at 7:30, hoping to leave as soon as I pick up my number(s) and any free stuff there. I’ll be riding the 45 since that’s all I have time for, but if I end up leaving even later, I may just ride the 25.

I would have liked to go to see if I can do a century at this time, but I am working a luncheon this weekend. Hope that you all have a good and safe ride!

We had some really great weather – a little cool in the morning, but it was great riding weather.

On the way, I was passed by three riders whom I promptly latched on to. But after only a short distance, one of them had to get off to stretch. I was hoping they’d pull me all the way to Marymoor.
    I got short changed :(
