Comments From The Ride Leader:

We’ll ride clockwise because there is a wider shoulder for the most part, and the few hills are easier that way for newer riders.  People should at least check their bike over and make sure they don’t have a flat or something, and have water and a snack if they want.  We’re going to take it easy, and welcome new folks if they should venture out.  I think the loop around is 13 mi, so we should plan for about 1 hr, or more if we stop and rest some place.  We could stop at Tully’s if people want to get a warm beverage after the ride – it’s across the street from the park and ride.

Reality check – for new riders, this is still relatively cold weather.  It could be a cold ride with just shorts and summer gloves.  You should have a light rain jacket you can put on if needed or as extra layer if you get cold, but wear something you can ride in without your rain jacket if you get too warm.   And you should have some sort of full gloves.  Even a thin glove under/over your summer bike gloves can make a difference.  And please wear a bike helmet that fits you properly.  It’s just not safe to ride without one.
